Note: The first three Playford editions were set for two couples facing each other. The later editions all say “longways for eight,” but none of the steps changed. The steps are still written for any number of pairs of couples.
I.
A1 1-4: Meet all a Double and back again.
A2 1-4: That again.
B1 1-4: Meet all again and lead your Opposite out a Double.
B2 1-2: Change hands and lead back in a Double.
B2 3-4: Then take your own Partner and fall back to your places.
C1&2: All four go a Circular Hey once around, passing right shoulders with your Opposite, left with your Partner, and so on around to your places.
II.
A1 1-4: Side Right with your Partner.
A2 1-4: Side Left with your Partner.
B1&2: As before.
C1&2: As before.
III.
A1 1-4: Arm Right with your Partner.
A2 1-4: Arm Left with your Partner.
B1&2: As before.
